API Token Information Update

Why do I need to update my API token information?

To ensure proper use of the Telraam API and maintain compliance with our CC-BY-NC license, we require all token holders to provide basic information about their intended use. This helps us understand how our data is being utilized and ensures we can provide appropriate support.

Which tokens are affected?

Tokens created before we implemented the information requirement form do not have the necessary details on file. If your token was created during this earlier period, you'll need to complete the missing information.

Important: Tokens without complete information will be deactivated on February 1st, 2026.

What information do I need to provide?

You'll need to complete the following fields:

  • Reason for API access - What will you use the data for?

  • Expected number of sensors - How many sensors do you plan to query via the API?

  • Level of involvement - How would you like us to be involved (if at all)?

  • Name - Your full name

  • Company - Your company or organization (if applicable)

  • License acknowledgment - Confirmation that you acknowledge the Telraam API is provided under a CC-BY-NC license

How do I update my token information?

  1. Log in to your Telraam account at telraam.net

  2. Navigate to your User Settings

  3. Look for the API Token section

  4. Check if there is "Missing token info"

  5. Click "Complete info" and complete in all missing information

What if I'm using the API for commercial purposes?

If you're using Telraam data for commercial applications, you must contact us directly. The CC-BY-NC (Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial) license does not permit commercial use without prior arrangement.

What happens if I don't update my information?

Tokens without complete information will be automatically deactivated on February 1st, 2026. After this date, you will no longer be able to access the API using an incomplete token.

I've updated my information - what's next?

Once you've completed all required fields and saved your changes, your token will remain active and you can continue using the API as normal. No further action is required unless your usage circumstances change.
